What is your detox and retox?
I’m not a fan of shocking the system with hardcore juicing or cleansing but there is so much that you can do for a mini detox that is healthy without going to extremes. To me the entire point of a mini detox is looking and feeling better – I want to glow from the inside out, not turn into a cranky, food-crazed maniac! My go-to for cleaning up my diet when is more of a lifestyle question. Drinking tons of water and green with lemon are two easy things that can make a huge difference when you want to flush the system. I also add in extra fruits and veggies along with healthy fats and proteins to my regular diet. Try having a fresh salad with organic eggs and avocado for breakfast instead of toast or cereal. It’s way more satisfying than a green juice and gives enough energy to get you through a morning workout, meeting, whatever is on the schedule. This is obvious but I avoid foods that inflame like white flour, sugar and anything overly processed. I will eat high quality dark chocolate because it has so many anti oxidants and makes me happy. You can accomplish your goals without depriving yourself of all pleasure in life. I also make a big effort to avoid salt, any soups or sauces made with cream.
How do we keep our “Beach 2014″ New Year’s resolutions?
You have to look at is as making a lifestyle change rather than a resolution. And if you are setting resolutions, make them positive and realistic so you set yourself up to succeed! It might be better to start by saying that you will work out a minimum of 3 days a week rather than trying to tie yourself down to 6. Once you get moving you will feel amazing, the urge to make more time for yourself and your workout will develop naturally!
Your favorite place to wake up is?
On the beach! There’s nothing more soothing or restorative than the sound of water and a day of vacation ahead.
What is your best vitamine boost advice / energy booster?
A healthy diet! A gigantic organic salad with avocado and wild salmon is the perfect beauty meal.
How would you describe the perfect work out?
To me working out is all about pampering the body and treating it with love – there’s no need to beat yourself up in the gym. My perfect workout is a combination of killer Ballet Beautiful toning exercises for the abs, legs and butt on the mat followed by our Skyline or Sugarplum workout to get the heart rate up and some Swan Arms for the upper body. The goal is to push your body during the workout and walk away feeling energized and restored.
