The Black Dress - So I have several really nice dresses, for sure. But I haven’t got a single dress that works when I need it the most (!). You know, that perfect dress that I can wear at several different occasions no matter if it’s a late night out or a more formal meeting. The same thinking I’ve regarding the perfect knit in my wardrobe – pair of boots, coat or bag – in the exact same way of thinking I would like to build a closet around the black dress. A black dress that is simple, yet luxurious, that I can vary with different kinds of accessories depending on in which way I want to use it.
The New Bag Shape - As in each season the accessories changes – and that includes the bags of course. We have been seeing a lot of the lady-like bag for a while now, and even though I like it a lot (e.g. my Marc Jacobs tote and Céline) I love to see a new model come alive with a totally new shape. The Fortune Cookie Bag from Céline is a perfect example for this, and it feels even hotter this season. Like a fresh face on the market with it’s triangular shape and asymmetric angles.
Stefano Pilati for Agnona - I was very curious about Pilati’s next move after YSL. Finding out that he was heading for the creative director position at the Italian luxury brand Agnona raised at least my eye brows. However, I do think he has an interesting take in what way he has chosen to take for the craftsmanship label. Knitwear and knitted pieces has always been the centre of attention for Agnona, and Pilati reinvented their classic techniques in a playful and very modern way. And honestly, I couldn’t love the next season ad campaign by Inez & Vinoodh even more. It’s just perfection and it tells so much of what style I would like to aim this spring.
